How Alice uses text messages

Alice is a personal-safety companion app operated by Doalier Pty Ltd (ABN 98 649 572 001), available on the Apple App Store. Alice sends a small number of transactional, safety-related SMS messages. We never send marketing texts.

What we send, and who consents

• Verification codes (to you). When you sign up, you enter your own mobile number in the app to receive a one-time verification code — entering your number is your consent to receive that code.
• Opt-in invitations (to contacts you add). When you add a trusted contact, we text them an invitation: "[Your name] added you as a trusted safety contact on Alice. Reply YES to opt in so they can reach you if they need help." We send nothing further unless they reply YES to opt in.
• Safety alerts (to opted-in contacts only). If you signal distress or miss a safety check-in, we text the contacts who opted in, with a secure link to your live location.

Adding a contact makes the consent step explicit — the app states that your contact will be asked to opt in before they can be notified:

Frequency, STOP and HELP

Message frequency is low and event-driven (verification, an occasional contact invitation, and safety alerts only when you trigger them). Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for help. Contacts can decline at any time.

Privacy
